Happy Valentine's Day

Lori Pierce

LOVE IS A VERB!

What’s your love language?  I read “The Five Love Languages…the Secret to Love that Lasts” years ago with my spouse and we both agreed that, for US, showing your love through acts of service is most important.  Others are Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Physical Touch  and Receiving Gifts.  The older I get, the more I’ve realized that words can be so empty!!

One can tell me all day long they love me but I don’t feel loved until you’ve shown me that you HEAR me and listen to what’s important to me. Tiny acts of service like bringing home my favorite ice cream or bringing me coffee in bed - for me this is love. Picking up the slack when I’m not feeling well, or loading the dishwasher. My Gordon shows me he loves me all the TIME! Of course, I show MY love through FOOD. If I love you I want to FEED you!! I suppose that’s why the heart shape is one of my favorite food vehicles.

SCRATCH. SEASONAL. LOCAL.

BREAKING NEWS!

BECAUSE I love you so much, I’ve decided to part with a tightly held recipe of mine, and will follow throughout the year with others - just click here or go to the website under classes and scroll to the recipe page. Here’s a hint for this month: Asparagus is coming into season!! THAT’S showin’ some LOVE!
